Cleaning Your Home After You Move

The minute you put the last of your boxes into your moving truck, you may think that you are ready to start your new life. Not so, however. Your stove has to be sparkling inside and out, including the hood, extractor fan and bottom drawer. Racks should be removed and scrubbed. All cupboards have to be emptied and wiped down, as do the drawers, sink and counter tops. Clean the bathroom floor, sink, bathtub, fixtures, toilet, door, mirrors and medicine cabinet. Outside, mow your lawn and trim your plants and get rid of all the garbage in your garage.

Following these guidelines will make your moving experience far more pleasant. Additionally, if you are engaging in local moves, then you may be able to come back a few times to properly clean up as well. Do try to get professional equipment such as a carpet cleaner in so that deep dirt can be removed properly. You can either hire a company or get the tools and do it yourself. A top tip is to always dust first and vacuum last. This is because dusting will make the dirt fly about, leaving debris deposits that can be hoovered up easily. Only after you have hoovered should you start mopping, followed by another hoover afterwards.
