Drivers Duties/Responsibilities:
• Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick up route for the day.
• Wrap/pack and physically move household goods into and out of moving truck into client’s location.
• Loads delivery vehicle items scheduled for pick-up and delivery.
• Delivers parcels to correct addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt when necessary.
• Maintains basic hours of service records when traveling.
• Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to safely drive 26′ box trucks.
• Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
• Ability to plan delivery routes.
• Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
• Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
• Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.
Education and Experience:
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Valid medical card.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to pass the physical requirements to obtain DOT medical card.
• Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.
